Last updated: 18 June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Olive Print Ltd ("OlivePrint", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit oliveprint.com (the "Site"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we handle your personal data.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.

We also use a few related "similar technologies" — such as your browser's local storage and session storage — which store small amounts of information in your browser in the same spirit as cookies. Where we refer to "cookies" in this policy, we mean cookies and these similar technologies together unless we say otherwise.

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by a third-party service we rely on, such as our payment provider (third-party cookies). They may last only for your current browsing session (session cookies, deleted when you close your browser) or remain for a set period (persistent cookies).

How we use cookies

We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal. The cookies and similar technologies we use are limited to those needed to operate the Site, keep it secure, process your orders and payments, and remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking, and we do not currently use analytics cookies.

Cookies and similar technologies we use

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set only in response to actions you take, such as logging in, building a basket, or going through checkout. Without them, parts of the Site will not work.

  • op_draft_order_id — links your in-progress checkout to your draft order so your details and items are carried through the payment process. First-party, expires after 24 hours.
  • Customer account session cookies (names beginning "sb-") — set by our authentication provider (Supabase) when you sign in to an OlivePrint account, so you stay logged in as you move between pages. First-party, persist for the duration of your signed-in session.
  • admin_session — used only by OlivePrint staff to access the administrative dashboard. This cookie is never set for ordinary customers. First-party, expires after 8 hours, or up to 30 days where a staff member selects "remember me".

Payment and fraud-prevention cookies (third party)

When you reach the payment step, we use Stripe to process card payments securely. Stripe loads its payment components from its own servers and sets cookies that help it process the transaction and detect and prevent fraud. These are essential to taking payment safely.

  • __stripe_mid — set by Stripe to help identify the device and prevent fraudulent transactions. Persists for around one year.
  • __stripe_sid — set by Stripe for the same fraud-prevention purpose during your session. Expires after around 30 minutes.

Stripe is an independent data controller for the information it collects. For more detail, see Stripe's own cookie and privacy notices at stripe.com/privacy.

Functional storage (preferences and your basket)

To make the Site work the way you expect, we store a small amount of information in your browser's local and session storage rather than in cookies. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to advertisers or used to track you.

  • oliveprint-cart — remembers the items and configurations in your basket so they are still there when you return. Stored in local storage until you clear your basket or your browser data.
  • oliveprint-checkout — temporarily holds the delivery and billing details you enter during checkout so you don't lose them between steps. Stored in session storage and cleared automatically when you close the tab.
  • oliveprint-vat-display — remembers whether you have chosen to view prices including or excluding VAT. Stored in local storage.

Analytics and advertising

We do not currently use analytics, advertising, social media, or other tracking cookies on the Site. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before placing any non-essential cookies.

Managing your cookies

Because the cookies and storage we use are limited to what is necessary to run the Site, securely process orders and payments, and remember your preferences, we do not display a cookie consent banner for non-essential tracking — we don't use any.

You can still control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them individually or all at once, and block cookies from some or all websites. You can usually find these controls in your browser's "Settings", "Preferences" or "Privacy" menu.

Please note that if you block or delete strictly necessary cookies and storage, some parts of the Site may not work properly — for example, you may be unable to sign in, keep items in your basket, or complete a purchase.

To manage cookies in common browsers, see their official help pages:

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back periodically to stay informed.
